I do not know if I was or not.
Backstory: I put my two weeks in to go to a new job that's less labor and less hours but the same pay. Two days before my two weeks ran out my boss pulls me aside to talk. Offers me more money. Yet then goes on about how if it's not about the money what is it. I explain it's the labor and the shit talk. Says he just ignores the shit talk and all jobs have labor. But I'm going from 8 hour shifts outside to 6 hour shift inside. He said I'm making a dumb choice and that 99 people would pick to stay option. Then he goes back on about the money. I defend myself saying I don't care about the money then says if it's not about the money don't bring it up. But I didn't. Says he was to busy to give me a raise the two years I've been there and he can hire anyone off the streets for my position. Offers more money. I explain again. It's not the money. Says imma make 12k more each year. I say I don't wanna stay. He stands and starts pacing explaining how I'm pointing fingers and not accepting my faults. I have very little faults. I'm good at my job. Show up daily. He couldn't list any faults.
I don't know the term gaslighting very well but everyone says I made the best choice because he was gaslighting me or manipulating me. So was he?
