Do night-life bugs prefer non-heat LED or regular heat-generating light bulbs?

Post Body

We have a porch light out back that attracts a ton of bugs, which I honestly don't mind since it's usually just moths, beetles, grasshoppers and etc minding their own buisness and vibing until morning.

However, I notice for a lot of the bugs (ones listed above included), they tend to draw into the light and seemingly body-slam it, get scorched, stumble / drop, struggle to recover, and body-slam it again.

The light we have out back right now gets super hot super easily, and I want to leave the light on for them personal comfort of security but geuinely wonder if I should replace the bulb for a low-temp LED so that they can crawl on the glass of the light as they please without seemingly burning themselves to death in the process? OR if it's better for the hot bulb to stay as is since it provides a bit of warmth outdoors? (Is that even something bugs care about as much???)

Idk - I just feel bad for the lil dudes since again it's 98% of the time just the non-harmful garden bugs seemingly trying to vibe by the light and idk whether to let them have the warmth of the current bulb or if they would prefer no-heat LEDS for the light without the scorch in turn. 😭
