Is it selfish to want to move out when my family needs help financially and physically?
Post Body

24F. I’m in a position right now where I really want to start looking into moving out. I work full time and make about 25k a year now. I’m also in school. I’m considering applying for another job with a 32k-36k salary which would put me in a much better position to get my own place, but when I brought it up to my mom she said don’t even think about moving out and that money could really help around the house. We’ve been at odds for a while now about a lot of things and the tension is palpable, but anytime I bring up moving out she calls me selfish and says if I leave then she’ll have to sell the house because she can’t do everything herself. I do have a brother 21M but she babies him and instead of him stepping up when I leave she’ll probably just work herself to exhaustion. I’m afraid if I get a higher paying job my mom will only try and take more of it so I can’t be financially independent.
