could I live in one country, but work a remote job for a business in another country, and get paid in that country’s currency?
Post Body

hopefully this isn’t too confusing. “that” in the title is referring to the second country i mentioned, the one my employer is located in.

sounds like it’d be doable but also i’m willing to believe it’s illegal for some dumb reason.

so let’s say i live in Canada, but i work remotely for a job in the USA. let’s say the canadian dollar to USD exchange rate is (high?) so i could be making a lot more money if i was paid in USD, then transferred it to canadian dollar, instead of them just paying me in canadian dollar.

is it possible for any job to not know where you’re working remotely from? what if i had the money go to my ‘wife’ that lives in the US, but really she’s just a trustworthy friend that just sends my paychecks over to me from the US?
