Last Saturday I traveled south to the Trinity Site visitor's "Open House" that WSMR holds twice annually. I am embarrassed to admit, as a History degree holder from UNM, I had never been to Trinity Site! GASP. I was also stunned by how many people were there. I was underwhelmed with some things like the information displays at both locations, the site itself, and the MacDonald house. Although old and historic in appearance, the entire event could take a modernization. I did take a few pictures, but none with me in the image- because I understand the weight and magnitude of Atomic warfare. I have one regret- and hopefully, someone here can enlighten me. As we were exiting the MacDonald house site, on the right-hand side of the end of the display, there were 2 cowboys. One older man was seated in a chair and a younger man was standing with his arms crossed. They were behind the army tape sectioning off the visitors and they looked like they BELONGED. I regret not stopping and speaking with them. My gut instinct is that they are part of the MacDonald Family and if that's the case, I do strongly regret not stopping and speaking with them. Help a history geek out!! Thanks
