Hello. I have been living in Japan for a few years now and I have been putting off seeing a doctor due to a lot of anxiety. I believe that during my time here, I have developed an eating disorder and I would like to get officially diagnosed. I'm not sure how to go about this. Would I have to first see a normal doctor and have them refer me? Or are there special clinics for this? If anyone knows of any kind and patient doctors, please let me know their name and where they're located. I know I shouldn't be so nervous about seeing a doctor because it's their job to help people, but I am. I've had many bad experiences throughout my life so it's difficult for me to step foot in hospitals but I want to seek help and become healthy again. And lastly, I can communicate enough in Japanese to explain my problems, but an English-speaking doctor would be the best even though my chances of finding one would be slim in regards to eating disorders. I'd appreciate any help I can get! Thank you for reading this far.
