Hey guys, checked out a local gym and did a trial class. First class ever so Iām not fully sure what to expect.
The vibe was good, other students were helpful and friendly. It was a Thursday class and all we did was take turns throwing short combos that the instructor didnāt specify then eventually a cardio type session with 10 rounds of 30 second āpressureā(simulating finishing an opponent) followed by a kick. Didnāt get really any attention from the instructor during my trial class (which is fine but again donāt know what to expect). There wasnāt any technique or real warmup to it. They do have some fighters and the instructor does have some credentials (FMA hall of fame for instance) just donāt know if this is the norm, really want to build a good fundamental base for future competitions.
Is It the norm to have some days more freestyle while others a technique focused? Instructor was pretty short with me overall, only talked to me once at the end asking how it went and if I was interested. Otherwise, no communication.
