Hey all,
I bought a Motorola x4 last year in May. I honestly cant remember if i bought it through the motorola site or google site, but I bought it because I was tired of using the google fi Sim in my Motorola X Pure and not getting group messages or picture messages because its not fully supported.
Anyway. I've had Moto X's since the beginning and have loved them, even if I've had issues with motorola customer service.
I've not had any problems with my new phone until recently.
I awoke one morning and looked at my phone and the battery was at 24%. I couldnt tell if I had remember to plug it in or not, so plugged it in while getting ready for work. Before going to work I noticed that it had not charged much, though it showed the lightning bolt at the top. So i grabbed a cable and took it to work to charge at work.At work I plugged it into a computer to charge and the battery level actually went down to 13%. I found a wall socket during lunch and plugged it in there where the battery stayed at 14% while plugged in.
When i got home I checked on the battery setting in the phone and it said "plugged in, cant charge right now". On top of that, the phone stayed at 14% for like.... 5 hours, unplugged, before dying.
So i called up google Fi and they said my warranty was up in May of this year and I should bring it to a UBreakIFix store.
So I did.
Well i get a call from the store over the weekend and they said they ordered a new battery, but it has not fixed the problem. I go pick it up and they say its most likely a motherboard thing and they cant fix that. At the store the battery is at 56%
I bring the phone home leave it for 3 hours to go do some errands, and come home to the phone still at 56%. Curious, I plug the phone in and now it says it charging normally.
Now... I dont know if the phone is fixed, or if its a fluke.. Im going to be doing a lot of traveling in the next few weeks and I'd prefer to have my phone, then to send it into Motorola and maybe never see it again (previous issues with previous phones.. sending them into motorola and having them lose it... twice).. But I also dont want to have my phone suddenly not work either.
Anyone have any motherboard issues with this phone? Or similar battery issues? I'm just kinda at a loss at the moment.
