I know this has been shared before… but given the info discussed at yesterday’s hearing, I figured it would be useful to re-share.

Cellular Analysis & Geo Location Field Resource Guide
Was notable that Officer Mowery seemed to be using AT&T location data directly, which was visualused/ mapped on CASTViz. AT&T have a proprietary location system using cell tower data, called NELOS. Info on that has been posted here before by other posters - iirc historical examples ( before 4G/ 5G) showed examples of localisation accuracy of phones from NELOS of c 200-300 metres. That sort of accuracy would place Kohberger in the cul-de-sac, or that residential area, on the 12 previous visits before Nov 13, and the return to scene at 9.12am just after the killings.
12 visits in question seem very broad in coverage:
Yes, the PCA phrasing seems intentionally general, perhaps to avoid any basis for future challenge? One aspect that (may) narrow it down somewhat, often overlooked in discussions, is that towers are not singular but rather are composed of transceivers each covering sectors of c 60 - 120 degrees, so he could likely be placed in a zone that is largely (within Moscow) the residential area in which King Rd sits, from the "util it sing cellular resources" phrase. We will need to see at trial what the localisation inferred was of course.
My sense of the timings late evening, early morning - after 11pm into small hours, not 9.00am, subjective of course.
if they have him on video at all during the return trip
Yes, is one area that we know little about, and where there is a reasonable probability there will be video. Just a guess, but i think he may have observed the house from just outside the cul-de-sac from Taylor Av, or just above it from Walenta Drive - in winter there are many clear lines of sight to the house.
The phone localisation data did seem to allow police to quickly zero in on locations in Ckarkston and get video from those places where Kohberger drove or visited - coffee stall, shop and supermarket. Interesting to see if there is a reason no mention was made of video around 9.00am near the scene - either it is incriminating, and/ or it is part if videos/ cameras already seized, being analysed and in use for the earlier time c 4.00am? Would motion activated home security cameras be more likely to have been triggered to record by headlights at night vs a car passing in daylight?

The prosecution have never commented on accuracy. The PCA seems to mix varying types of localisation - from connecting to a tower ( just meaning that tower was closest/ best signal) to using cellular resources serving a specific area to locations estimated from cell data. The last would be most likely to be trilateration from multiple towers.
The pool party may not be one of the 12, based on those being very late night/ early morning. I wonder if there is earlier GPS data - depends really if the house or a victim had been selected, and when, and if he started visiting the area but turning off his phone beforehand?
