PG32UQX Mini LED Blooming issue

Post Body

The PG32UQX has some really bad FALD blooming issues.

I compared the HDR peformace between both monitors HDR 1000 vs HDR 1400 and Mini LED vs regular FALD. PG32UQX VS PG35VQ Blooming

I tested both monitors across many games like Destiny 2, Doom Eternal, and Assassins Creed Odyssey. In normal HDR content both monitors peformed very well and both had little to none blooming. The problem comes in dark HDR content. Bright objects behind a gray or black background makes the FALD in the PG32UQX go crazy. For example in Doom Eternal there was an insaine amount of blooming on stars in a night sky. You can almost see every Mini LED zone; however, the PG35VQ did not have this issue and peformed 100x times better with little to none blooming in dark content. The same result came across Destiny 2 and sometimes it did not have to be stars. Light objects in dark areas or certain machines hidding in dark landscapes caused certain zones on the PG32UQX to bloom. I understand that the games I mentioned above are relativelty dark games and many people will argue that dark scenes stresses any form of FALD. But regardless of the point every game will have some way, shape or form of a nightime, dark scenes, or dark areas to explore. My main point is that the PG35VQ handles dark HDR scenes (blooming) way better than the PG32UQX. It baffles me beacuse supposedly Mini LED is supposed to have really good blacks and very minimal blooming. Above I included a link comapring the HDR blooming between both monitors so you can see my point. I will be returning the PG32UQX because of the really bad blooming and for $3000 I expected the best and it is hard to justify and recommend with all the blooming issues it has. Thank you for reading and save your money.

Update: I learned to live with the blooming and I love this monitor.
