Prime Minister addresses the media after the opposition fail to pass a motion of no confidence against the government.
Post Body

Following the failure of the opposition's vote of no confidence in the government, Prime Minister /u/Fresh3001 addressed members of the Parliamentary Press Gallery. Flanked by Deputy Prime Minister /u/NinjjaDragon, the Prime Minister delivered a statement regarding the status of the government.

"Good afternoon. Today is a wonderful day. I don't typically wish for the opposition to further their incompetence, but on this occasion I am especially grateful. As you are all aware, the Green Party recently submitted a motion of no confidence against my government for reasons which were not only baseless, but transparently partisan. Yesterday, that motion failed to pass - thanks entirely to the absence of one of their MPs, who couldn't be bothered toeing the party line of toppling a legitimate government.

"With the dissolution of Parliament coming in just 8 days, I don't expect there to be a second motion against the government. If it were to happen, I wouldn't be especially unhappy. New Zealanders are a no-nonsense, straight to the point people. If the latest crisis the Greens plunged us into wasn't enough to make them nosedive in the polls, a second motion of no confidence certainly would. I look forward to remaining Prime Minister in the last few days of this term, and hope to introduce another bill as Justice Minister before Parliament is dissolved. Thank you all."
