This afternoon, Prime Minister /u/Fresh3001 held a press conference at the Beehive which revealed that a summit to negotiation New Zealand's re-entry into the ANZUS agreement would be held in the coming weeks.

"Good afternoon. After conversing with New Zealand's permanent representative to the United Nations /u/Winston_Wilhelmus and Foreign Minister /u/Mattsthetic, I am pleased to announce that a summit will be held in Wellington in the coming weeks, to discuss New Zealand's re-entry into the alliance. I intend to work closely with President /u/Nonprehension and Prime Minister /u/PineappleCrusher_ in order to hash out a deal, and I am incredibly proud of the members of this government who have achieved this much already. At the summit, I the leaders of the United States and Australia will be accompanied by Secretary of State /u/Kerbogha and Foreign Minister /u/TheAudibleAsh, and I look forwards to meeting them with /u/Winston_Wilhelmus and /u/Mattsthetic. New Zealanders take defence for granted, but it's always positive for a nation to improve relations with their allies for all manner of reasons. In 2018, New Zealand can do more to work alongside Australia and the United States and attempting to mend this alliance is absolutely one of those things. Thank you all."
