Jumped off at 1mg after tapering from 140mg in 3 years.
HOW I DIT IT: in August of 2021 I started tapering by 2mg a month. After I year, I decided it was too slow. I didn’t want this to take 6 years. I started dropping 5mg a month. I honestly didn’t notice anything until I hit 30mg, and even then I was never bad enough to stop my taper. Once I got to 10mg, I dropped by 1mg a week. Going to the clinic every week really motivated me to stop too. When I picked up my 2mg bottles, I took half of it the first day I was dosing at home and never took the rest. I’m so fucking grateful to be off of methadone. Of course, the risk of relapse is always there, but my life is so different today. I was on methadone for almost 13 years. The dope game from my time is completely gone and I’m not dying from fentanyl. I’m not losing a limb to xylazine. I don’t even remember what it feels like to be high on opioids. I haven’t had a dose that made me nod in 2.5-3 years. If you have any questions, comment or DM. I’ll try to answer everyone.
