Switching from methadone to suboxone
Post Body

For context im on 145mg of methadone currently but before I was on methadone I was able to get clean from a bundle a day habit by using gabapentin (taking around 10 a day, one every 30 minutes it takes away most of the withdrawls) so I wanna switch to subs and I know i can go 3 days without methadone easily by using the gabas but I know my toelrance will still be really high and not sure how many mgs of subs I would need to equal my 145mg dose? I know your supposed to go down to 30mg before switching but I dont have time to ween my dose down and even if i went down 5mg everyday I dont have enough gabas to fight the withdrawls while im dropping my dose and then needing more for the 3 days I go without the methadone. Should I just get off methadone all together with the gabs? I have enough to be able to take 10 a day for about 7 or 8 days and if i really needed more I could get some. What would my sub dose need to be if i was on 145mg? Would they even prescribe me it if I did it that way? I assime i would have to take multiple 8mg strips probably enough to equal 145mg or more since I think methadone is stronger
