Macbook USB Hubs Disconnecting Flash Drives Constantly

Anyone have these hubs you snap to the side of your MacBook?

I have a flash drive inserted into mine. These hubs are really cool and convenient except any little wiggle and you get the "A disk was ejected" warning telling you to manually eject it in the software first. Strangely, anything else connected to the hub doesn't disconnect. I've tried both ports and different brands. It's just "normal" at this point.

It's irritating. It happens about 10 times a day and makes me think it will break my 512GB USB flash drive eventually, which will suck. My old flash drive broke and I think this is why. Same errors multiple times a day.

Should I get an SD card instead? My hub has 2 SD card slots. I'm wondering if SD cards don't have the same issue just like everything else connected. Anyone know a remedy?
