Yes, you did! But server attendence has been rather low, and I'd hate to kill the server so early - so I'm extending the invitations!

"What the hell is this?"

Well it's several things. First and foremost: It's a Direwolf20 Feed the Beast server.

Feed The Beast is several modpacks for Minecraft centered around a specific theme - Some are magic oriented, some are focused on construction or combat, while others try to get everything they can while still providing a balanced game.

The latter is what we're playing.

Direwolf20 adds a cornucopia of mods for everyone to destroy the server with - and the best part? You don't have to use every single one! That's right. If you want to be a wizard, shunning technology as toys for fools - You can! If you want to be a god-engineer and consume the amazon with your flying mining machine - You can! If you want to dig a hole in the ground and write an IRC client to use inside minecraft - You can!

All of these mods also interact with each other to varying degrees - meaning you can easily combine Thaumcrafts aura nodes with Computercrafts sensors for a match made in heaven.

I've oversimplified the mods into three categories for ease of selection.

Magic

Thaumcraft 4 - Alchemy, research, and potentially village destroying side-effects.

Blood Magic - Powerful buffs at the cost of your own, mob, or friendly lifeforce.

Witchery - Draw spooky runes and obtain sweet NPC companions. Also pacts with demons.

Technology

Applied Energistics 2 - Get rid of your storage room and compact everything into a single disc.

Industrial Craft 2 - Harness electricity for crazy efficient machines and other conveniences.

Computer Craft - Use in-game sensors and LUA to program pretty much anything and everything.

Agriculture and other crafting mods

Beekeeping (Forestry submod) - Breed fantastical bees that generate resources. Plugs into a lot of other mods.

Botunia - Grow mystic flowers and produce handy rings and trinkets for small buffs.

Forestry - Utilize the land to power machines from other mods, harvest trees with incredible efficiency, and never go hungry again!

"But what about my stuff? What'll happen when I'm offline?"

Well, this is a private server with friend-of-friend invite rules. So that shouldn't be too much trouble. But...

I installed Towny, which lets you claim land, group up with other players, and build safely from others.

If you're alone, don't worry! You can still claim a few chunks all your own.

"Well, can I invite my friends?"

Of course! Friends can invite friends and friends of friends can invite friends of friends that they're friends with.
