Story of My Life - /u/Cobalt_Blaze
Post Body

Hello Plounge. I am /u/Cobalt_Blaze. Formerly known as /u/zach10002.

I'm not sure how to start this so I'll just start from the beginning. I was born without this part of my brain, and without a corpus callosum. Some doctors met together to talk about me, and decided that they think I had a stoke before I was born. Somehow, my brain rewired itself. I can do everything that I shouldn't be able to do. One of those things is math. I should not be able to do math, but it's one of my best subjects.

A year or two after I was born, my dad took me to see a neurologist. They found out that I am hydrocephalic. Based on scans of my brain, the neurologist thought I would be "a vegetable." He was amazed to see that I was acting like any other kid my age. I should not have passed kindergarten. Now, I'm in my 3rd year of college.

I had a normal life until shortly after my 13 birthday. I started having seizures 3-4 times a month. After several months,my neurologist decided that I should take medicine to decrease the chance of me having seizures. I had 1-2 seizures a year after that until 6-7 months ago. My body got used to the medicine I had been taking and I started having 2-3 seizures every day. I'm taking a new medicine and it's working well.

I'm told that I have a disability called delayed processing speed. That means that it takes me a little longer to do some things than everyone else.

I don't think of that as a disability thanks to this Ted Talk in the very first minute.

That's not my whole life obviously. I've had so many family reunions, camping trips, and much more. There's so much more, but I don't want to make this long enough to scare everyone away.

Thanks for reading.
