Can we please fix base running?

Is it just me but from what I remember with this game and I played a lot last year and the year before it seems the base running control is a joke. I don't know how many times the runner at first or second wouldn't respond I remember playing many baseball games back in the day and it was much easier and funner.
I love this game but it's pitching and batting and that's it no base running controls that are reliable.
