Maroiogog is seen in the frame wearing mountain gear. It is windy on the summit but not enough to distort the recording. The stream is started a few minutes in advance of the speech in order for people top be able to see it on their feeds. Maroiogog and his manager use the time wisely to complain at the expensiveness of the satellite internet they had to purchase to make this possible and joking around with the audience. The speech was as follows.
Hello the internet. I am Maroiogog and I am Scottish Labour candidate for the Ayrshire constituency of the Scottish Parliament. I am joining you today from the summit of the Goat Fell, the highest peak in the isle of Arran to have a chat about Labour's plans for the enviroment.
Our only Earth is being threatened by many factors related to our activities as a Society. Climate changge, plastic pollution and deforestation are just a few examples of phenomenons we would like to curb under a Labour Government. We want to start a cultural change which will see everyone in our society look at the enviroment like something we need to preserve for our children and grandchildren, not as something we should get the most out of ourselves while we can.
Most of the policies we are proposing now go hand in hand with that concept. We want to invest into our energy production systems to upgrade them to cleaner forms of energy. We know this is a big committment of public finances and as such we want to make the most of it, focusing the job creation in communities which are still suffering from the deindustrialization process and making sure these new workplaces are unionized.
Whilst we believe action must be swift and decisive we also recognize that we cannot change things from one day to the next. We have a very ambitious plan to make sure that the only cars running on the streets of Scotland by the end of the next decade will be electric or hybrid. In order to achieve this we will roll out grants for those who need to change cars, so that nobody will remain stranded. It will be a long process but we believe this is a suitable timeframe for it to be completed.
Moreover we believe that the main role of the government with regards to enviromental policies should be to do all it can to facilitate the adoption of ecological lifestyles by its citizens. Until being enviromentally friendly will not be the most convenient lifestyle to adopt many simply won't. We therefore believe there is the need for direct intervention in many markets and for campaigns to inform the citizens about how to avoid damaging our Country.
Meanwhile, what does my Libertarian opponent have to offer to this contrituency? The re-introduction of fracking, help to the oil industry and the end of subsidies to renewable forms of energy. To any enviromentally concious voter ther choice should be clear, vote Maroiogog, vote Scottish Labour.
Maroiogog then proceeded to give spectators a view of the Firth of Clyde as seen from the summit and encouraged them to come and visit Ayrshire.
