Maroiogog arrives early in the morning at Glasgow station and embarks on a service heading towards Kilmarnock, the first station he visits during his tour. He gets there during the morning peak, so to meet as many people as possible. On the platform he also gives a short speech to commuters.
"Good morning Kilmarnock. I am Maroiogog, Labour Party candidate for your contituency in the upcoming Holyrood election. Today I am touring all of Ayrshire by train, and this is my first stop. By talking to some of you just now I have gathered that commuting into Glasgow is not an easy feat. However, I believe that the plans that my party has for Scotland could go a long way into making your situation better.
The Labour party always sides with the workforce, thus we will in the Holyrood for you to have greater representation through empowering trade unions just as we are doing in Westminster. Workers should have a say in how the companies they are employed by function to prevent their exploitation.
I am aware that commuting using the railways system is not cheap and sometimes not even reliable. Labour has always had this problem at heart, and has always been a vocal supported of railway nationalization. The franchising system did not work for our railways, and meant that prices rose way above inflation for years. We are committed to keeping the scottish railways in the hands of the state so that the money you pay on your daily ride will not go towards making shareholders richer but will actually improve the service you benefit from.
We also view very favourably a greater expansion of the railway system, as outlined in our national manifesto, and thus would be looking into ways of increasing their presence here in Ayrshire and in Scotland more in general. This fits into our vision of a country where public transport is a viable alternative to cars on the biggest amount of journeys possible, which I am sure you would all benefit from.
Meanwhile, my opponent is standing on a manifesto which promises to remove ferry and bus licenses. Scotland is rightfully proud of all its islands. If we want to make sure they continue to be inhabited we need to give them good and reliable connections with the mainland. I cannot see how a private operator could guarantee said services without asking for subsidies or asking ludicrous prices. If you care about our public transport network, vote Labour"
Maroiogog cut his speech as a train was pulling into the platform. Maroiogog's next stop was Kilwinning. Alongside him on the platform a group of pensioners were waiting for the same train as they made their way towards the seaside in Largs. The candidate gave them a brief explanation of some key Labour policies."
"Good morning, as you may know I am the Labour candidate to become your MSP in the upcoming election. I can see some of you are here with your carers. We understand that the aging process can sometimes be difficult to manage for families and individuals. It is a difficult conversation to have, as we all like to think that we will never incur in such problems ourselves, until we do.
It is often at times like these where the state is needed the most, and must have its citizens' backs. I am proud to be running on a manifesto which promises greater investment into the NHS and social care. We recognize that loneliness is becoming an increasingly important problem for many pensioners, and we want to make sure that everyone in our country is well looked after regardless of whether they have family members nearby who are willing and able to do that.
In order to look after everyone's health we also want to make sure the NHS becomes more accessible. When curing many medical conditions an early diagnosis is key, and in order to improve outcomes here in Scotland we will fund more GPs, more and more pharmacies. We are and will always be the party of the NHS"
Maroiogog toured the rest of the constituency, making stops at Largs, Androssan and Ayr speaking to many citizens, and addressing their concerns.
