It is safe to say that these are some of Labour's darkest days since the exodus to form the Socialist Party. Never before has there been such division and anger in the party that has boiled over into the loss of the Leader, a Deputy Leader and 7 MPs, as well numerous Lords and a Whip. These are clearly tragic losses to the party, but it is not just membership loses that the party has suffered. Any shreds of integrity that the party previously had in the eyes of other parties and people has clearly been lost, it will be a while before it is won back.

To begin this process, two Interim Deputy Leaders in /u/akc8 and /u/figgy-stardust are currently undergoing a Vote of Confidence, before the Leadership election will begin, with a simple Questions and Answer period before a vote, to get it done as quickly as possible. The Party is in dire need of stability currently, which /u/nonprehension as Interim Leader hopes this will provide. We are also foregoing MP elections, instead also opting for a simple Vote of Confidence in whoever would like to stand, so as not to let down our colleagues who need Labour votes to pass progressive legislation.

It has been decided that we are to remain as member of the Opposition, as internal Labour Party drama should not interfere with the democratic process and system of bringing the government to account. Because of our coalition partners best efforts to poach yet more members from us, encouraging us to split and otherwise being downright unhelpful, we think it is only right for the country that we do not let them have sole control of the Official Opposition. Replacements for Shadow Secretaries of State will be announced presently.

The actions taken by the Interim Leadership have majorly restored the stability of the party, allowing for fresh elections and for the party to start the process of moving on from this dark period in its history.
