I hereby resign from my positions in the Speakership. Since taking my job as DS this summer I decided that through all of the criticism of Rolo, I would stay on to help maintain some sort of stability of MHoC. Keep the bills counted, posted, and MQ's running you know.

Following this election, I cannot continue to participate in a system like this. I have multiple grievances with the speakership itself along with this election.

First, why did everyone seem to do worse in this election except for the CLibs? I'm not even sure that they have eight active members, so how the fuck could they get eight seats? I'm not pointing the finger at Duncs, but I do believe the electoral system displays some sort of favoritism because Tyler, Callum, and Slug lost while I won a seat with a 100k majority against a party leader and Duncs's party won eight seats.

Second, this current Triumvirate is illegitimate. I really don't believe that we should have an "acting" Lords Speaker doing most of the jobs for a month as well as an "acting" Commons Speaker doing the same. Frankly, if you cannot be a good speaker, resign. The candidates who ran against the current LS specifically are incredibly active and it's a shame to see that fall into inactivity. Ben is basically serving alone on a Triumvirate with two members who claim they can continue to serve, but truly cannot. Since I'm a member of both speakerships, I currently get the frustration that results twofold.

Frankly, Rolo should resign now so we can have a good speakership election and then a proper re-run of the election, because apparently he cannot be counted on to run it properly. The fact that Ben can't step in when he's gone is reason enough to change the current dynamics of the speakership.

Finally, I get the feeling that the speakership is currently headhunting members who are speaking out against Rolo. People are venting in main chat for justifiable reasons, they should not be banned for it. People have a fucking right to be angry. If Rolo were here to explain, I feel like we could have a productive discussion about it, but since he's not this is the logical response.

My two year anniversary of joining the speakership for the first time is coming up on November 4th. Hopefully we can get an active triumvirate by then so that I can return to doing what I love by then. Until we do, however, I cannot reasonably justify continuing to hold this position to myself.
