Dental Recommendations
Post Body

I'm putting myself out here seeking help, because in all honesty I'm kind of freaking out a lot in my head. I've finally taken the step in searching for a dentist that is willing to work with me. The couple times I've visited a dentist to see about the work I needed done, I was quoted an insane price since I don't have any insurance.

I've settled on going to a dentist in Mexico, since it will be a lot cheaper. I recently received insurance coverage through my workplace, but their dental plan has a 2 year waiting period to achieve the dental work I need done and I honestly don't want to wait that long. The agent actually offered me a dental office in Mexico that her family uses, but I wanted to see about finding other dentists that might be good as well.

I've been needing to see a dentist for years, but I'm terrified of finding out how bad my teeth are. They look bad to me, even though I've taken care of them to the best of my ability. I was homeless for years and had several of them knocked out my people wanting to steal my belongings, etc. While I've attempted to take care of them as good as I'm able, the damage was already done and I have tried to hide both the damage as well as the constant pain.

I've worked hard to get myself off the streets, to enroll in college and find a job that I love. But my teeth are always nagging me in the back of my head; I fear meeting new people, of smiling and someone seeing the damage and judging me. As someone who as started doing their own baking, catering events and meeting clients for private orders, I worry about my teeth constantly. It gets worse every time I see their white smiles and good teeth; I feel like I'm being judged, even when I'm not.

So I'm reaching out for any suggestions, any sort of help in finding a dental solution that would be willing to work with me. I can't wait two years for my insurance to cover it, I feel like the damage is extensive and would like to get it fixed much sooner than that.
