I’ve been using Logic for about 6 years now, and I’ve ran it on a Mac Mini from 2014, which is basically unusable now. I’m about to buy a MacBook but since I’m a university student I’m trying to find the most cost friendly option, while still getting a computer that will fit all my needs. I’ve heard a lot of people say that 16GB ram is ideal for running Logic if you use a lot of plug-ins or VSTs. Personally, I’m not using any right now… I’m training to be a music director for musical theatre and a classical/contemporary composer, so I don’t need a lot of fancy synths. I have worked on a lot of pop/synth projects, but my school does have a recording booth with a really high-tech mac set-up, and that’s good enough for my needs in that department.
I’m also going to be frequently using MainStage and MuseScore. I have a 1TB hard drive as well. Do you think I can get by on a macbook with just 8GB ram, or is the 16 definitely necessary? TIA!

I think a lot of them may not have even used m1, m2, m3 base models sufficiently either and are just going on their own experience of using high ram. im not saying all.. but put it this way.
you ask someone about an m1 model and they talk about their m2 on here. everyone just puts 2 cents in regardless if its related.
