Do the Rode Wireless Go 2 mics always link as the same device # or does it change?

I would like to label the 2 transmitter packs, but I am not sure if the mics always pair as mic 1 & mic 2, respectively. It makes no sense to label the mics if the channel assignment could be switched by the receiver at some point in the future.
