Hello,
I'm a videographer with a background in live sound. I got asked to mix and boom on a low-budget narrative web series and need to rent some gear. It looks like at most I will have 4-5 people speaking in one scene.
I own a NTG3 with blimp and boompole, a tascam dr60dmkii, and a rode wireless filmmaker lav.
The shotgun will be good for the outside scenes. I'm going to rent something for indoor dialogue. Maybe a seinheisser or audix. I may rent a rode nt55 or just buy an nt5. Everything else is Rode so I figure it would be easier to match. I was also going to rent some more of the rode wireless lavs since I already have one. Does this make sense?
I need a recorder with more inputs so I'm going to rent either a Zoom F4 with the adapter for additional xlrs, or the F8. They seem pretty easy to learn and use.
They're shooting with the A7sii so I want to record quality audio to match the visuals. Please let me know what you think.
