You never expect to need it, but when you do, it can sometimes be hard to find and is definitely much harder to remember than the emergency contact number (911/999).

If you're ever caught in a scenario where contacting the police is important, but it's not an emergency, this will come in handy if you don't have access to the internet or a phone book nearby. Also, you may be somewhat frazzled if you do find yourself in need of the police and knowing where to find the number, if you don't have it, might not be the easiest thing to do in the current state of mind.
