So im Bi, so I'm a tourist on this sub. Big up women on women love.
So I'm here because I seen a post on r/TrueOffMyChest where a person claiming to be a lesbian (still not entirely sure they weren't a troll) spoke about how they were forced to become a terf because the lesbian online communities have become overcritical and over trans sensitive.
I personally feel like nothing can force you to be a bigot bar your own bigotry. However as a Bi person online most the posts I see are how we would shag anything that made us feel warm and we like cuffed jeans. Standard memes etc.
But im interested to know if lesbians have more exposure to terfs. Terfs I know IRL use the, "well my lesbian friend says its cool to hate trans people so I can to". To my surprise most the comments on the post were other queer people saying this exact thing. Even thanking the brave TERF for publicity announcing their views.
I was really disheartened to read so many supposed queer people and allys spouting so much hate and misinformation.
How much of an issue has TERFS been for you as a lesbian? Do you find that it's a loud but small group? Or is it more a lot of people having microaggresions of transphobia?
Very interested to hear from my queer sisters on this issue. Much love to my trans sisters reading this, your not alone in the fight against hate.
