(Scotland) - Finding Out More About a High Court Trial

Post Body

Hey,

I noted in court rolls some weeks back that a case of interest was being tried - on a dedicated floating trial.

I left it a couple of weeks after the stated session date and called the court to enquire if they might be able to tell me anything about the case.

The case is a High Court case but is being held in one of the non-standard High Courts (I forget the name given to sheriff courts hosting a High Court, sorry) - so it was a woman working in the Sheriff Court office I spoke to.

She couldn't find the details of the case after I gave her the Case Ref No. She asked for the defendant's name. I gave her this and she immediately twigged that it was a High Court case. She said, because of this, she can't give me any details.

Is this common practice? Does it mean anything? Will there be a way in future where I can find the outcome of the case?

Many thanks

Edited bit about forgetting a name to remove ambiguity
