Post Body

My father "filed" for divorce against my mother back in July in Poland. They both married in Poland in 96. We have yet to be notified of anything. Is there any database that we can check to see if he is telling the truth? He claimed to have paid the lawyer and that it will take 4-6 months to divorce on paper. Then an additional amount of time to split up the assets, determine alimony etc. My father also claims that there is no alimony in Poland, but some sort of child credit if there is a kid in school.

I don't know what to believe but it all sounds fishy to me. My mother is unemployed and can not afford to pay for a lawyer.
