Just a general question post.
Is anyone here involved with Knowledge Representation? Obviously ML and Neural Nets are very popular topics in NLP and AI right now but I was wondering if anyone here worked with building ontologies or in knowledge representation and their experiences with it. I am a grad student pursuing a PhD in Linguistics but I possibly could pursue an MS in CompLing, an MS in Data Science Engineering, or possibly an MA in Applied Math. Im only a year into grad school but as of now I am interested in the intersection of CogSci, Syntax, and CompLing.
I do plan on taking classes in ML but I also could take classes in KR. It seems kind of hard to find information on the current state of KR and its future so I am reaching out to my fellow researchers to see what they have to say.
Thanks!
