Time for surgery scheduling?

Post Body
I have been told by a surgeon I should have my gallbladder removed and that surgery scheduling will call me within two days. It's now been almost a week. My mom said not to expect to hear from them for up to a month. That feels like gross negligence to me. Thoughts? How long is reasonable?
(I have called and left voicemails twice now, with no call back. My next step is calling member services but I'm not sure if I have justifiable reason to make a fuss).
