Latency on Jabra evolve 55 and 75 for blind users
Post Body

I am blind and use a screen reading software on my laptops. It is VoiceOver on Mac and Narrator/NVDA on Windows. Since I am using these software applications all the time, latency is an issue with wireless and bluetooth headsets. The reason I really like the Evolve 2 75 is that the latency is tolerable in a certain mode. By default, the latency is really bad. So much so that the headset cuts off a second or 2 of the audio of my screen reader speaking. However, if I press and hold the round button on the right ear cup, the headset seems to switch to a different mode and there is no latency. The audio quality is reduced but for speech output, this is not a problem. So this is great for my needs. I just got an Evolve 2 55 headset and this has the exact same behavior. I wish there was a way to have the headset default to this lower quality but no latency mode. But there doesn't appear to be a way that I can find. I am using the Link 380 USB C dongle. If there is anyone at Jabra following this subreddit, please please don't change anything that would take this low latency mode away in the future models/updates. ANd let me know if I can default these headsets to this mode. Thank you.
