As the title says, Iām wondering why people use the term zionists to describe Israelis? As an Israeli citizens, no one here identifies as a āZionistā it feels like the term is used to dehumanise a certain segment of Israeli population like āterroristsā but literally no one identifies as Zionist, Zionism was just the idea that Jews deserve a country and we have oneā¦ So I would like to understand why this term is widely used by people who hate israel? Is it just easier to say zionists than Israeli / Jewish? So it would sound less racist?
