King Bleddyn ap Cynfyn sat with his son, Cadwgan ap Bleddyn, preparing to write a letter to Duke William II of Normandy.

”Son, you are now 15, and must now be finding a wife. This letter, to the Duke of Normandy, is to request for his support in us taking back the lands that my half brother lost due to Harald Godwinson, that bastard, caused us to lose. He has multiple daughters, who I am sure would be a good wife for you.

Bleddyn smiled, and patted his son on the back.

Now, scribe, finish the message, and it shall be delivered to the Duke.

A letter is delivered to the Duke of Normandy, with the seal of the house of Mathrafal. The message (simplified) reads:

To the Honorable Duke William of Normandy,

As King of Gwynedd, and half-brother to the deceased Gruffydd ap Llwelyn, who had all of Wales recognize him as King, I ask for your support. While we are different in culture, background, and title, we have a common hatred for the English, which is why I ask for your support, pledging to help and harass against the English if we get your support for our claiming of Wales…

... Bleddyn ap Cynfyn of the House of Mathrafal, King of Gwynedd
