I read Infinite Jest a few months ago and it redefined my life. I hate to associate too much with it but goddammit it's probably my favorite book if I'm being honest. I read Gravity's Rainbow shortly after and while I liked it, it didn't have the sustenance to live on that IJ had. I read Stoner shortly after it and it did it for me too but now I've been slogging through books that are good but they aren't electrifying me like IJ, Stoner, and to some extent My Struggle did. Does anybody have any recommendations for books that simultaneously resuscitate and ruin me?

Siddhartha is one of my faves. Too few people read Herman Hesse. Demian and Steppenwolf are really good too, didn't finish glass bead game though.
