Camping with my son

Post Body

I've thought long and hard about what I'm about to share, but I still don't know what to make of it. When it first happened, I was sure that it was an accident. But then I kept thinking about it, and read more about this topic on the internet, and on forums like these, and the more I read, the more questions I had. I'll share the events, and let you all decide if it was an accident or not. If it matters, I am 42, and he is 19.

It started off as yet another camping trip with my son, of which we've done quite a few recently. If you've been on these camping trips in the US, you know the the reservations are usually on a campsite basis. That is, you get a campsite and you can put as many tents as you want in that site. That's what I thought would be the case for my latest comping adventure with my son. However, when we got there, we learned that it was on a tent basis. That is, we only had the reservation for one tent. I didn't want to feel stupid in front of the ranger there, so I just smiled and said "It's not a problem, we'll manage. We're only here for a night." We set up our tent, mingled with other campers for a while (some of whom were also taken by surprise at the per tent policy), had dinner, took some pictures of the night sky, and went to bed around midnight. I was wearing a long-sleeved tee and shorts and my son was wearing a thin sweater and shorts. We set our beds beside each other, due to space limitations.

I'm a pretty sound and deep sleeper and don't wake up except for alarms. But around 3 a.m. I woke up with a tiny, almost imperceptible jolt. I opened my eyes and everything was obviously pitch dark, but I felt that my son's head was resting against my shoulder, his leg on my leg, and one of his hands was on my boobs. I took a few seconds to compose myself. Then I started to note the details. I noticed that my nipples were hard. Both of them. I also noticed that his thumb was right next to my nipple, almost resting on it. I could feel my heartbeats, they were that strong, but I didn't move. I calmed myself, wanting not to make things awkward in case my movements woke him up. At that point, I was obviously thinking that it's all an accident. That he's surely asleep. I calmed myself and thought of a way to resolve the situation. And while I was thinking, his thumb was against my nipple, gently touching it as I breathed. I was up for about half an hour in that position. Neither of us moved. And then the funniest thing happened. I don't know how long it took, but thinking about things in that calm state of mind, I fell asleep. When I got up in the morning to the alarm, his head was still against my shoulder, but his hands were by his side. He got up soon after and we spent the day as if nothing had happened.

I thought about it later, and dismissed it as some accident. But this incident got me thinking about how often things like these happen. And the magic of the internet brought me all the way here. Now I know that this isn't like all the other, rather obvious stories here, but what's your take? Does it look more like an accident or something more intentional?
