I'm really relied on where I work. I'm on a small internal IT helpdesk team of 12 and I'm a senior at this point and I'm the only one left that knows how to do the job properly. 4 people have resigned in the last 3 years, Others are thinking about it too and things are slowly turning to shit.
So much information and knowledge is funneled through me at this point.
I have been here 5 years now and there isn't any room for me to move up in this company. My job is very easy. I get paid a nice amount to do basically nothing. I'm not learning or being challenged at all.
My boss sent me a joke message today "saying please don't leave me" and that I'm the only good worker left.
I have an interview on Tuesday for a role somewhere else at an MSP that I think would be a good move as I'll be exposed to new systems and I'll learn alot quicker in this environment but I can't help but feel an immense wave of guilt leaving things at my current employer. If I left it would be a nightmare for everyone else and management here.
How can I get over this? Should I speak to my boss and tell him?
Or should I Goto my interview wait for the results and if I get an offer speak to him.
Thank you
