Where do I start

Hello I’m very new to the group but I do have some questions in regards to starting a career in the IT field I’m planning to go school next fall but I’m not too sure what route to go should I get a degree in CS or should I go the certification route. I’ve always had a passion for technology and I do regret wasting two years of college for psychology. Any advice will help thanks!
