I’ve been with IHSS for 2 years now but I’m still not knowledgeable on how career pathways work. Do they happen every month? I’ve tried several times to qualify for more hours with my dad’s case worker but they overlook us every time. I feel like it’s prejudice involved. My father is blind in both eyes & physically disabled as well. He needs more care. Im home with him every day & take him everywhere I go, but we still somehow only qualify for 65 hours a month, even when his doctors have signed paperwork stating that he needs more supervision. Because of having to be with at all times, I can’t seek office employment elsewhere to help make ends meet so Im needing to make money from home in other ways.
Is the career pathways an additional source of income? Does it help you ? What do you do on the side for extra income from home?
