First time operating a broadcast camera at a live event- tips?
Post Body

This weekend will be my first time operating a large format broadcast camera (grass valley canon digisuper 95).

I’ve worked on DSLR and Prosumer shoots, although i’ve mainly been on the postproduction and editing side, I’ve only been on the capture side a handful of times.

This is my very first time using a large format camera, and I’ll be filming a live event inside of a large stadium from a locked off position at front of house.

The main entertainment is a fast-moving popstar with a lot of dancers. I’ve already had a chance to play with the camera and set the tensions and balance in the neighborhood of something that feels comfortable, but I’m wondering if anybody out there can give me a few tips for surviving this weekend? I am used to comm and will be one of four cameras being directed from backstage.

Humor is fine, but keep in mind that I’m nervous as hell!
