Lifelong hair loss, but TSH is 1.350
Post Body

So I recently posted in /r/tressless about my hair loss, because I'm tired of walking around looking like this. You can read that post here.

One user in particular connected with me, and I sent her photos of my hair loss. She agreed with my original diagnosis of female pattern hair loss. Then she asked me if I experience miniaturization of the hairs. That's when you shed short, unpigmented hairs. I do not, so she/he suggested it could point to hypothyroidism.

But I am confused. I have had 3 full thyroid panels, and they were all negative. My most recent TSH levels tested at 1.350. None of the symptoms really resonate with me. I have had health issues all my life, and I have been actively trying to get a diagnosis for more than 10 years. My symptoms much more closely match those of vascular Ehlers-Danlos syndrome. And one symptom is thin scalp hair, but . . . could the hair loss be from something else?

I just hate all of this confusion and not knowing. And to make things worse, I do not qualify for health insurance of any kind, as I am both undiagnosed (so Medicaid and disability are out) and I'm too sick to work (so ObamaCare and employer health insurance are out. My state also chose not to expand Medicaid. Thanks a lot, my state!
