I’m sitting here watching the finale for the third time now. And this just dawned on me.
House comes in the - let’s say - morning after finding out he’s going to be sent back to jail and miss the last months of Wilson’s life. He has a new case and a great attitude.
Taub points out that house is in too good of a mood for someone who got that news.
Usually, when someone decides they’re going to commit suicide they go through an extreme out. Because the end is near.
I think, House was planning to fake his death, or even commit suicide (so he didn’t have to live without Wilson) and when he stumbled upon the addict who was in fact sick, he figured out a way that he could do it.
I’m thinking, what if House didn’t touch any of the drugs, or just a little (since he did pass out), played a typical House mind game, and pushed for the guy to keep up with him, causing him to OD so House would have the body to complete the plan.
House is never really panicked about the fire, so that now makes me wonder if he started the fire during the binge, or set something for the fire to start during, knowing the man would overdose. Etc etc .
