Slow transfer speeds
Post Body

My brother and I have similar network setups but our transfer speeds from the computer to the NAS are very different.

My Setup

  1. Intel i9, 32GB Ram, 1TB SSD, 10GbE ethernet card
  2. Asustor NAS 1 x 2.5GbE Ethernet, 4 Segate 7200RPM drives, Raid 5
  3. QNAP 2 Port 10GbE RJ45 with 4-port 2.5GbE RJ45 Unmanaged Switch
  4. All connected with Cat 8 cables

Brothers setup

  1. Intel i7, 10GB Ram, 1TB SSD, 10GbE ethernet card
  2. Asustor NAS 2 x 2.5GbE Ethernet, 4 Segate 7200RPM drives, Raid 5
  3. NAS connected to switch using link aggregation using 2 x 2.5Gbe ports.
  4. Trendnet 10-Port Multi-Gig Web Smart Switch TEG-3102WS
  5. Connection from Computer to Switch by fibre. Switch to NAS Cat 6
  6. Link aggregation has been enabled on both the NAS and the switch.

When transferring a 10GB file I get 600-800 GB/s he gets 200-300GB/s.

Could it be the computer? What am I missing? Will be trying with a different computer tomorrow.
