One upon a time i worked in D30 often on a weekend I was the only one scheduled in. I would drive at 1 to a line of happy customers. I would then work after finishing the back log if possible on larger custom orders typically min 1k5$ I would then be pulled away. By the ASM even if there was a line of customers to cut $16 roller shades. Often when with a customer the phone would ring and my manager would grab it and shove it in my hand. 80% of the time it was for another dept. If it was meal time I was instructed to call for the ASM who would not answer and go to meal. At the end of my Shift I was told to leave ( if i could i would finish the customer) and have the overtime adjusted the next day. If not i would inform the line they would shortly be helped (tried to get the ASM on the phone) and leave (no overtime) Might be a little hard to be tops in customer service this way.
