I was briefly talking to a rigis guy while I took a short breather and he was asking me if I choose to push carts or if they make me, to which I said it's a bit of both. I further explained that I probably wouldn't do too well in other epartments since I don't know much about the things they're relevant to. I then got slightly into rant mode and was expressing that everyone in the store should be getting paid more than 13$ / hour and how I got paid more at Amazon for considerably less hard work (was an order picker, easy money). He was mostly in agreement, but then after some thinking he said, "yeah, but you really don't do much. You're just pushing carts, 13 is right, just not during summer."...
My store would cease to function properly with no lot associates, even IF we were "only pushing carts", especially when considering the ratio of men to women at my store (most of the women there can't push more than 4 carts at a time). It's annoying enough when fellow HD associates undermine us lot bros, even more annoying when it's some dude on the outside.
Sorry, just needed to vent.
