I have been going to HH pretty frequently for the past month or so. One thing I have noticed is that it is difficult to find any single solo going ladies at the park. I am pretty straight forward and clear about my boundaries when I’m approached. However, I can’t relax. Also, many men will say they just want to make a new friend and I’ll even tell them that it will be a platonic friend just to have them tell me my ass looks good walking away or end up hitting on me later in the conversation.

I have a few girlfriends that want to come with me, but I know they have never been out there before and they are not as willing to tell guys to scram once boundaries have been crossed. Even if they are uncomfortable with a conversation they might not speak up. They are more the type to just leave.

I love HH, but I’m an independent woman and I go on adventures to many places women don’t frequent solo as often. I would love to have my close girlfriends out there. They are beautiful, sweet, smart and mostly single. I want them to enjoy it, want to come back, feel comfortable going alone if they so desire and most importantly feel free and safe.

I’m not bashing men. I would say most men out there want the ladies of HH to feel the safe and want to protect us in some form or fashion. I had a gay friend offer to accompany me just so I could have a man around. I’m not saying woman shouldn’t be approached at all.

I was thinking we could brain storm some ideas on education for the safety of women at HH. Maybe a flyer. Maybe a subreddit for women to share their stories whether they felt safe or when they didn’t. There is a hotline number for the park, but this is more for us patrons to support women.

I know I personally would feel safer and more free out there! Maybe more women would come! If HH gets the reputation that it is a safe place for women to hang naked? I would say that’s a win for nearly everyone!
