I bought an HP Omen 15 laptop with a Ryzen CPU sometime in September. Ever since I got it, it would stutter every now and then. Not nearly enough to concern me. But recently I bought Elden Ring and put it on low graphics because I didn’t want to stress my laptop. And now it stutters every 60 seconds or so while I’m playing. It’s really annoying to me that I spent $1600 on a laptop and it can’t even run the game properly for over a minute.
I did some research and a lot of people suggested to use the actual GPU instead of the integrated one. But for some reason AMD doesn’t allow you to do that. So I have a fucking GTX 3060 in my laptop I can’t even use??? I went into NVIDIA control panel and set the primary GPU as the 3060 but apparently that doesn’t mean it’ll use it 100% of the time.
What can I do to fix my laptop, and why would HP put a powerful GPU in a laptop that you can’t even use? What’s the point?
