Okay, on my phone so my spelling and grammar may be a bit off but anyway... I read a story a while back about this teenaged kid who moved into a house owned by a woman he met online. She turned out to be crazy, thinking her online persona as a goddess was real and she had actual magic. The house filthy and it turned out she talked a lot of people into moving in with her over the years and then had them pay her money and do chores and stuff. It was like a little tiny pseudo cult thing. Anyway the kid eventually ran away with his pet rat and there was something about how shoes instigated it I think? Its been a while and I can't find the damn story despite looking for an hour. Any help would be appreciated.
