Back in the early seasons when they released the full service instead of what’s edited for TV, it adds a whole new dimension to the show.
GR is actually nicer than most chefs I’ve had, the amount of times he allowed for the chefs to mess up in season 2 was wild.
It’s also funnier because back in the day very few people were competent. He yells at everyone even Marylou the sous chef; meanwhile she’s in a state of constant panic because she knows their cooking is shit no matter how she plates it.
Scott also comes across very differently. I didn’t expect him to be so nurturing. He would not only show them how to cook things but would literally remind them to add ingredients and say things like “you got this bud.” Along the way.
I understand why they edit it down, but it feels just like a real kitchen when you watch the raw edition. GR ends up looking like a saint , when you watch the full services and how bad they really were.
